high beams on with low beams

i tried to find the post that was on here but could not do it and really didnt have time to go threw every post in that last week or so But here is how to do it I knew i had it some place LOL I found it on the12volt.com web site again they have tons of information for thngs like this and also how to do other things with 12 volt or even with out 12 volt stuff great site if you want to learn how to mod your car with lights,LED's etc....

This can be done with 2 relays. You will need to find the positive wire for the low beams, cut it and connect the wire going to the bulb to pin 30 on the relay. The other end of the wire goes to 87A. You will need to connect 87 to the battery with a fuse holder at the battery. 10 amp fuse for each should be fine. 85 needs to be connected to ground an 86 connects to the positive wire of the your high beam headlight. This wire can be a small (18 Ga.) wire with a 1 amp fuse where you connect it to the high beam positive wire. Pin 85 can also be a small wire. When the lights are on low beam the voltage will travel through the relay as if it were not even there. When the high beams are turned on the relay will energize and then connect the low beam bulb to the 12 volts from the battery. You will have to do this on each light.

RE: high beams on with low beams

I also posted some real good instructions in the DIY section that I stole from MYMONTE.com

But the DIY section is so cluttered with incorrect posts, I couldn't find it.

I guess people don't read the rules of the DIY section and I canunderstandthat the MODS are too busy to move the hundreds of incorrect postings out of the DIY section.;)
