help - sticking brakes after pad change

changed the front pads on our 2003 and now they are getting really hot, and act like warped rotors. what could i have done wrong?

On the caliper there is a rubber boot, one per bolt...total of two per caliper. Either it is missing or there is no grease in there and it is sticking. I would check that. If the boots are on then I would grease the bolts up so the caliper will move freely.

I had that happen on my 04. The boots was missing on one caliper and replaced both the pads and rotors then it started sticking. My friends and I replaced the boots and greased the bolts and it now works like a champ. I guess it could move just euff that on the old set it never stuck but on the new set it did. I hope this helps.

you will warp your rotor if tire isnt torqued evenly, use a star pattern and torque to 100ft lbs each. buy a bar style torque wrench if needed $20 craftsman part

I torque them evenly when I do it. Discount tire does not. Nevertheless I've checked disc runout and its no more then mabye 2 thou. With the bolt pattern so close to the thick hub it seems like it would be hard to warp these. easier on some other cars.
