Engine stalling. need some help
 

I have an 04 Monte Carlo SS, K series. After i run the car for about 5-10 minutes the car wont idle and shuts off. Then it sometimes restarts while applying some throttle but most times not. Key on fuel pressure is 55+ running fuel pressure is about 45. Replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, and the IAT. The IAT shows a temperature of 52 degrees when its about 8 degrees out. The new one says the same reading. No troubles codes are poping up either. Dont really know where to go from here any and all help would be great.

just thowing this out, could be a bad catalytic converter, seems like a pretty common problem here?

Wouldnt it be throwing an emissions code?

I would say possibly faulty IAC or MAF?

Both are on your throttle body. I say IAC because you said you can give it throttle, MAF is usually a suspect if it's acting rough on idle

Ok ill test that then. Thanks. also im not sure what the timing should be but its about 33 degrees while cranking. then also why would my IAT still be giving a false reading after i replaced it?

It's close to a hot engine and the air could be warming up

thats what it is when i first try to start it. before it has a chance to warm up. u think i should double check for a bad ground?

Don't forget to check your air filter, make sure it's not plugged. But I agree with Chibi, checking out the IAC and MAF are pretty quick/easy to do.

In my experiance it could also be an o2 sencor, befor mine went out I would be driving down the road and the car just shut off and sometimes it wouldnt even stay started for 5 mins the only thing was mine didnt read a code until I went out oneday and my car just wouldnt start......

I cleaned the IAC and check the MAF dont think that either of those are the issue. My Scantool says that my Ignition advance is about 39 degrees. Im not sure what the spec is supposed to be but this seems off to me. Camshaft position sensor possibly?
