Engine check light came on the other day . My tech told me it was code 401 egr flow. He said I should clean it out myself to save a few bucks. Any tips to do it right woul be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

 

when you do get it cleaned, buy an egr valve gasket with the screen (bluestreak aka standard part # is VG57) big fix for those things

make sure it has a screen the one you get, cuz if it doesn't the same thing is going to happen again

 

Pull the EGR valve off and clean the tube going towards the back out with a stiff pipe cleaner or engine cleaning brush and the passage going to the intake manifold. U may have to use some carb clean on the brush. When done, vacuum the passages out real good and then reassemble.

 

egr deleat from zz will solve all problems, also runs better.
