Default ECM Reset to stock

Does anyone know of a way to set the ECM back to the stock programming? I have a friend with a Suburu and he said disconnecting the battery and pumping the brakes 30 times will reset the ECM to stock settings...Is there any tricks to the Monte like this? PLEASE let me know!

I appreciate it!

why not try flashing it again with a stock program? SOMEBODY has to have one they can send you....

OR you can just buy a new one....

Code Reader Myths
Pat Goss

Check engine lights can be a real problem. You see the thing with the check engine like number one; you have to understand what it's telling you. The yellow check engine light means you have an emissions control problem on your vehicle. Do you have to stop right now? Now you don't have to stop right now, but you have to prepare that you need to get your car checked. Now what does checking for the check engine light actually entail? Well somebody, either you or a technician is going to connection some type of test device into the diagnostic link under the dash of the car. Now that might be something basic, like a simple code reader. Or it could be something really complex and exotic like this unit (pictured below) from Snap On tools.
Now, whatever you use, one of the things that is going to come up is a code. Because when the check engine light comes on it sets a numeric code in the computer and that numeric code tells you what is being affected by what's wrong with the car. But you've got to remember that the code doesn't tell you what is actually wrong. So how do you find out what's wrong? Well what you do is you refer to a service manual or some type of information service. And it will tell you what you do to check to see the cause of the check engine light. This particular code refers to a crankshaft position sensor but if you walk down through the test procedure you will find that there are numbers of different things that could cause that code other than the sensor itself. So always make sure that the technician uses something like this to check to see exactly what's wrong. Otherwise you may end up in the world of oxygen sensors. One of the most over sold parts on the planet. Why? Because there are a hundred different things that can cause an oxygen sensor code that have absolutely nothing to do with the oxygen sensor and far too many people never run the diagnostic. So check engine light, code, run the test procedure that matches the code, and you will save a lot of money.

Thanks Space...I appreciate you taking the time to try and help! I searched for hours yesterday, I even checked my Hanes manual, and nothing....I tried disconnecting the battery for like 4 hours (I heard 30min was all it takes, but wanted to make damn sure it was enough time) then I reconnected it, hoping it would reset the PCM.....no luck, it just made the traction control service light go out, and made the check engine light go out, but within 30 seconds of the car running, they both came back on...and the car sounded/ ran like crap from the second I started it!

Well, I drove my car to the nearest Chevy Dealer....I hate them, but did not want to drive it very far, and this place is less than 10 miles from home, and did not require me to use the highway........The dealer determined that the ECM was bad, and is replacing it under warrenty But I will have the pay my $200 deductable.

I called Jet, very long story, but i'll give you the very short and to the point version of what came of it....that is after 27 min on hold, and two transfers....
They are total and complete ******** at Jet Performance, and I would highly recommend that NOBODY purchase ANYTHING from them!!!!
They guy was so rude I wanted to jump through the phone and kick his ***...when I started the conversation, and explained the the Module fried my ECM, he responded, no it didnt, that is impossible, our Modules don't do that....then proceeded to tell me that especially since I removed it, the car would go 100% back to stock. I told him, well I got news for you, its not impossible, because it happend, and you need to figure out a way to pay for it. I also told him that I wanted to return the Module and get a FULL refund. He responded where did you buy it from, and I told him Autoanything.com, he said, ok then call them. I said not so fast, there is a HUGE orange sticker on your box that says if for any reason you must return this product, call Jet directly, not the place of purchase...he responded, I know what my orange sticker says, and i'm telling you to call autoanything...So I was getting rather heated with his freakin attitude, and started giving it right back to him. Don't worry, I have his name so that when I call the customer relations money to see where to mail the bill from the dealer so they can pay for it, I can also let them know what a flying jerk this guy was.......

Autoanything has GREAT customer service, and is being very helpful. They said Jet should have given me a return number before I called them, but she said not to worry, she will contact Jet and get a return number...So I am expecting an e-mail within 48hrs explaining the steps to return the piece of JUNK Jet Module......

Keep in mind, that was the very shortened version of the conversation...take his rude attitude, and apply it to every comment or question you might have had if you were on my shoes, and thats how our entire conversation went....

Bottom line of the whole problem: Jet Performance SUCKS, and so does their customer support...My car is being fixed under my GMPP ectended warrenty, Thank you GM, my car should be back in my hands, and back to its usual self tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest....Autoanything a great place to do business with...

Oh and the dealer is fixing my rear window defroster which has not worked for like 6months now, also under warreny!

I'll keep you all posted as I fight this battle for sure! Yea, this was a suck face lesson to learn, and not exactly cheap, but hey, it could have been alot worse if it was not under warrenty.......So I won't complain to much.
