Drop the tank and blow compressed air through the vent hose and the EVAP vent line.

Mine does it on occasion, but not usually. If I play around with the pump, I can get it to start working correctly.

I hope you don't turn it on, then go back into your car, then go back to the tank.

This is probably the number one reason why gas stations can catch fire and explode! Especially if you have cloth seats and a wool jacket.

Not safe at all. Just be a man, tough it out for 2 minutes, and fill your car with it not running. Although, I love charging $88 to clear EVAP codes when people do this.

Deal with it all the time...Some of the gas stations with newer pumps I have to angle it, any older pumps work fine.
And with leaving the car on while filling it up? Newer cars throw a check engine light & can screw up your fuel pump. Toughen up & buy a thicker jacket.

My monte did that long ago, i got fancy n stuck a skinny vacuum hose down the filler neck till i go stopped by the vent. I wiggled the hose around for a while and after that the pump always worken on auto fill after that.
