Default Dead bulbs in instrument cluster

I just noticed that there seems to be a bulb out behind my fuel gauge. Sorry this is for a 2002 Monte. Does anybody know if there are actual bulbs or are there LED's behind the cluster? Has anybody ever had to replace either. Dealer is telling me it could be a bad cluster and that will cost me $500. Ouch! Thanks for any help Monte Brothers (and Sisters).

yeah there are bulbs and LED's back there.

I can tell ya a even cheaper option to replace them adn actually would replace all of them in one shot for about 100.00 and some postage. unless ya find them on Ebay cheaper .

Got to Speedhut.com
get a set of over lay's for teh cluster and put them in . takes abotu 1 hour for soe one never doing this type of work. and it is not hard at all.
but will eliminate that issue with the cluster bulbs going out.

Or you can do like i did and replace all of them with resitors and also LED's in the dash and switches and pick a color ya like to do it with.
Mine were suposed to have been blue but ended up as U.V/
