Default A few Q's about my 85 Monte Carlo classic

im swaping a carbedSB 350 out of a 78 el camino SS into 85 monte carlo which had a fuel injected4.3 in it im confused about what kind of fuel pressure regulator ill need if im using the in tank fuel pump instead of the mechanical pump any suggestions? Also will the rear end from the 78 el camino SS bolt up to my monte carlo? - Josh

you can check in to the regulators that are adjustabel. but for the most part i would think you would be fine as long as you have one that is equal to the one in the camino.

Man a 78 camino!!!!!! Shame your not closer to me LOL I wan tthe body LOL if it is straight.

as far as the rearend in it you can mesure it from spring perch to spring perch under both cars. if they are the same and mounting is the same you should be close.

Also messuer from the furthest point out on both sides of the Axel to the same place on the other side and also on the monte. If this all lines up and messures out it should be a good swap.

but with out looking at it and being there to do the figures i cant say for sure but i belive they did have the same rear ends in both cars.

Also if you have a monte any way it might be cheapper to just do gears in the monte and new Axels.

yeah the rear end should fit because all g-body car's are the same but the rear end are probebly the same gear ratio's as well because the monte carloCL,LS came with 3.42 and theSS came with 3.73 and ipretty surethat the el camino did not come with *** pack in 78-87 so unless sombody swaped the rear end that camino probley has 3.42
and as for the fuel pressure regulator just get a aftermarket one that is adjustable and set it to around 5-7 psi and you should be fine
