convert idiot gauges
 

I just recently became the owner of an 88 LS. Beautiful car, low original mileage (69k), and in overall really good condition. I want to upgrade the gauges and I've found several sets on eBay. My question: How hard is it to convert from the idiot gauges to the needle gauge? Any "How to" on this modification?

I don't think that you can just plug in the "new to you" factory gauges and they will work. You will need the proper sensors that work with the gauges, the gauges & the circuit board that goes with them. I have everything to make it work from an 85' SS if you are still looking or are interested.

All the new gauges will have sending units that will need to be connected at the proper places but if your in to doing it yourself its not hard. The new gauges are self explanatory. You need a hot a ground then connect the sending unit . As lond as your buying the kit that has the new gauge panel its cake work . If you haven't looked yet try dixiemontecarlodepot.com

Theres a grommet in the firewall behind your brake pedal that's a good spot to run your wires through.
