Rear one works front doesn't. Console seems to be stuck. I pulled up hard and it broke loose but cant seem to pull back and out. Any ideas?? All screws out? 2 in rear 1 up front?

The issue on mine was a fuse on the passenger side of the car. Rear cigarette lighter is a 10 amp on the driver side, the Front cigarette lighter was a 15 amp located on the passenger side.

mine was the same, front bad, back good....checked the passenger side fuse panel and the 15 amp fuse was blown.

Could also be the variance in usage/voltage.... Resistance etc....

I replaced mine...Now it works flawlessly.

electricity follows the path of least resistance

I had the same problem, I replaced a fuse and still no workie! I was thumbing through my owners manual some time later and found that there was another fuse that was also labeled for the lighter.

So, that said, look at the owners manual; but, don't just stop at the first place it says lighter....look through all the fuses and reference all places that say anything close to lighter.

I am not guaranteeing anything, but this was the instance in my case, I overlooked it the first time in the manual. Like I said, my front was not working (kid stuck a penny in it, blowing the fuse) but the rear lighter was working.

Now they both work!!

Hope this helps!

By the way, this was in a 2000 Monte Carlo LS.
