icm/ ignition control module, takes input from the cps(crankshaft pos sensor) and ecm to determain proper output voltage,timing, ect for attached ignition coils(3) sometimes if it fails it will "knock" out an ignition coil,. causing misfire, rough idle, and a "wrx" type sound. seems to be a common problem with 3800 series 2 engines. along with the iac(idle air controller) getting stuck, and if that happens clean it with carb and choke(take it off the throttle body) and it will save you alot of money./////

also there is an anti theft system on the stock radio, but i honesty do not know if that would cause his car to seize start>????
