Can't get HI beams on?
Hey guys, new the the forum. I have a 2000 Monte Carlo. I can't get the hi beams to go on. I pull back on the turn signal and there is no click or anything. When I pull back, the high beams do come on until I release the lever. At first I had then stuck on HI, but I pulled hard enought to get them back to LO. I pulled the plastic halves off the column and can see the turn signal switch. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or do I have to replace the switch? Is there a relay someone that turns the HI beams on?
Thanks Chris |
RE: Can't get HI beams on?
it is the multi function swtich on the colum not hard to fix or replace.

RE: Can't get HI beams on?
I am searching the internet for used multi function switches and I find 2 options. w/cruise and w/o cruise? The car has cruise, but not on the multi function switch (turn signal lever), it's on the steering wheel. So when it asks "w/ or w/o cruise", do they mean the car or the lever?

Hi Chris,I think you need a switch like below,I searched for one for a 2000 Monte Carlo & could not find, but it has nothing to do with your cruise control. Do a Search for a AC Delco Turn Signal Switch. If you dont find, I will search more later, I have to get back to my studies : (

RE: Can't get HI beams on?
try pushing the multi function switch forward and see if it stays.

RE: Can't get HI beams on?
So the "w/cruise" & "w/o cruise" have nothing to do with the switch or wiring? One salavage yard said that the wiring was different even though the cruise control wasn't on the turn signal. I figured when it asked if it was for cruise or not, it was reffering to the lever not on the vehicle. Is the monte even offered without cruise?
Thanks Chris |
