Cabin Air Filter on 2003

Autozone sold me one, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where the cabin air filter is located??? Thanks

the filter is under the passenger side plastic cowl piece . remove the wiper blade and then there are two plastic bolts with slotted heads. there should be better instuctions in some older posts. be sure the short piece of weatherstrip stays in place on the metal lip above the filter. if it falls off you will get water on you pass. side floor.

The Cabin Filter gets nasty.
It's worth replacing or blowing-out with compressed air.

The element is on the passenger side. Park the wipers up. Open the hood. Take the windshield washer line out of the clips. Unscrew or Lift-up the center of the Pop fasteners and remove them. Pull away the rubber weather strip at the front of the plastic cowl. Lift out the plastic cowl and the filter element is exposed. Vacuum-out the area before removing the filter from the shelf. Remove filter. Toss. Replace with new one. -Or- Vacuum or Blow-out old filter and replace.

New Fasteners are available at AutoBody Supply Shops. Pop-types come in box of 10. Screw-types come in box of 6. $11.00 Generic Auto Fasteners.

Changing the filter will eliminate the musty odor if present. Definitely worth the $17 and easy to change.
