Hello again guys! The project is going well. As soon as summer hits the body comes off the chassis and all the wonderful boxes full of parts I have acquired this fall / winter will be installed. and the chassis will be cleaned, primed and painted. Now, I have a 1978 Monte, and am having a hell of a time finding performance drilled & slotted front rotors for it!!!! Of course you can find them for a 1979, or a 1977, but for a 1978?? I know the 1979 rotors wont work, the are a smidge too tall (78 is 3.922" tall vs 79 is 4.13" tall) so, anyone have a good source to check? I know some of you say drilled and slotted are crap, some love them, me.......... mostly cosmetic is why I would like them. I converted the rear end to disc brakes, and they have drilled rotors. alas, the company I got the kit from dosent sell performance front rotoros for a 1978......... any info like always is appreciated guys!!! Pics to follow as soon as it stops snowing in Iowa!!!!!! LOL.....

Just a note. 1980 and older rotors have American threads on the studs . Should be able to use newer rotors by changing wheel studs. Good luck

Should have the same threads, its a 1978. I'm concerned with the caliper mounting on the knuckle with the rotor height being larger in diameter in a 79 or 80 MC. Or for that matter the rotor itself mounting on the hub.

I remember doing the rotor swap on a old racecar I had car was about a 1983 and we used older rotors because of the 7/16 thread on the studs were same as lug nuts we were using. The bearings were different sizes but other than that minor detail they fit after getting right . I'm betting they fit , that's less tha 1/4 total difference in size or 1/8 inch bigger in the brake pads , caliper area. I have never style spindles if your in Mn area.
