brake lights not working.....
ok guys, i have searched but not found exactly the answer. my brakes lights don't work when pressed, now the middle in the middle of back window work, turn signals work fine. put in new bulbs, brake light switch should b fine since middle brake light works. I've checked fuses, but i honestly aren't sure which one is for brake lights. but because the middle one works i dnt think its a fuse. Now i have heard of this happening with other symptoms, and u have to change the turn signal switch in the steering wheel. any ideas?????? also my lights around AC/heat controls don't work either, didnt know if this wqas related. Any ideas for the problems before i change the turn signal switch??? Thanks everyone!!!!!

No problem, it just makes it easier for other members to help if as much info as possible is provided. If #23 fuse is good then the problem is not a blown fuse. You said you weren't sure which fuse was for the brake lights and that would be #23. If it is good then the problem is elsewhere. BTW the high center brake light is on a different fuse which is #6. Do you have a self powered test light or a multimeter? You may want to pull the fuse and test it just for grins before tearing into the multifunction switch. I have seen fuses before that looked perfectly good but had no continuity.

just to clarify, my turn signals are working fine. In fact everything on my turn signal lever works i.e, turn signals, wipers, etc. So should i should change the multifunction switch (turn signal lever), or the actual turnsignal switch,(the round plastic switch under the steering wheel)? im electrician by trade so im confident i can do it but just wana make sure im changing the right thing. Thanks again guys!!!!

It's the contacts in the multifunction switch that can become worn/dirty/oxidized that causes the problem. You can still have indicators and the switch may be at fault for no brake lights. Something you can try to verify it is the switch is to have someone stand behind the car observing the brake lights as you apply them and wiggle the indicator lever. If the brake lights flicker or come on you know it is the contacts and the switch needs to be replaced.
