So here is my situation, I have a 97 Monte with 137k miles on it. Recently I noticed it had been leaking coolant. From what auto knowledge I have, I suspected water pump, along with others whose opinion I asked for. I took it to the local shop and he said it was a bad intake gasket and that needed to be repaired along with the water pump. The car has been my every day driver for work. I am no longer driving it though and plan on getting a new one. I just put new tires (less than 500 miles) and new brakes on it. Should I sell it or is it worth getting fixed?

 

What engine do you have? If it the 3100 you can do this yourself and save a boat load.

 

It is the 3100, however, I am not very mechanically gifted when it comes to the engine.
