abs trac lit

Have a 2002 ss. Replaced both hubs correctly. abs and trac lights on. No codes in snap on scanner. Also, intermittent no crank. Any ideas?

The most common cause is the abs harness itself. There is a technical service bulletin for this problem. The harness may look fine from the outside but breaks inside. A lot of the time the problem will come and go. Is your scanner abs capable? I got my car scanned for free at Autozone. The most common failure is the front passenger side then front drivers. Its an easy diy fix and under $40 if you order the harness online

Thanks for your reply. Gonna try Autozone. My son`s scanner is fully capable. Would have cleared code but unit has been stolen. He paid over 3 grand for it. I did repair a broken wire and it fixed the problem but the indicators are still lit.

That bites about the scanner. Will homeowners insurance cover it? When I went to Autozone the code actually said it was a bad hub. But since the harness was bad the scanner couldn't talk to it of course. I used an ohmmeter to test my harness. Clipped away a tiny piece of the covering far up the harness. Sometimes if would test good but I could make it fault by flexing the harness. Some people clear their codes by disconnecting the battery for a bit.

Tried the disconnect. abs and trac still lit. Harness is good. Hubs are new. This car drives me nuts. Have a problem with body module too. Dealer couldn`t duplicate symptom when it was under warranty of course. Gonna see if Autozone will clear dash. Thanks!
