Default 3400 internal engine squeal?

I have an 01 Monte with 3400 engine and there is an annoying squeal from the front of the engine. I removed the serpentine belt and harmonic balance and the noise still is there at certain rpms, no change. This eliminates any accessories from problem. The sound is like a bad a/c clutch or idler pulley. Any ideas internal engine or exhaustleak, vacuum leak ect. The car has had a loss of power lately also.

Sounds like a possible bearing issue..../Cam or Main bearing....

That doesn't sound good (no pun intended). I would have it looked at by a pro SOON.

if you have run the engine without the belt on it, and you still have a noise, suspect internal issues. check oil plug and filter for metal.

Default 2003 3400 engine tensioner assy

A sqeally noise coming from between the pully and the engine block , spray lube between that area and noise stops for a while, also the belt tracking on the tensioner pully is off the pully approximately 5/16 of an inch is that normal or the belt not overlap at all???

Your belt should sit perfectly on All your pullies. Meaning Centered. If it is off on one, then that one may have bad bearings and needs to be replaced. Check the pulley itself. The shaft should sit solidly in the accessory. On the tension the bearing is pressed onto the pulley. Something is definitely off. Don't continue to use lube to quiet the noise. As the pulley spins centrifugal force will force the lube back out and onto the belt and contact area. This can cause the belt to slip, the pulley not to turn and cause ware in the belt till it pops. You don't want to loose all your accessories when your out on a date with your Favorite Girl/Bow! Replace the bad accessory or tensioner. Not just the pulley cause the bearings are internal to the unit. Also check your brackets. Could be that one is loose or bent.
