Default 2005 blower motor issues??

i have a 2005 that sometimes the blower motor works other times it does not. sometimes it will stay running even when the car is off? when you are driving the blower will just turn on if you have the fan switch turned up? any ideas if it is the controls, resistor or the blower motor?

Are you talking the heater blower or the engine cooling fan?

it's been awhile since i change one from a grand prix, but as far as i know the resistor have a 2 wire connector at the end with circuit board like and i have no idea on the control module you talking about. btw on the grand prix when i change the resistor it turn out to be the blower went bad. here's pic of the resistor on the grand prix. the monte shouldn't be any different i don't think.

edit* i read the post again, i don't think it's the resistor then if it turn on by itself. might be something else sorry mang!!

Have a Town car with same symptoms. A blower lockout switch located in the inlet heater hose to the heater core controls the blower on switch. It's a thermostat that won't let the blower work unless it's hot enough. After confirming switch was good , and the thermal climate control switch was OK, I found out it,s important to flush the engine on newer cars because of all the sensors. The antifreeze was brown! After that heater worked great.

I had this issue with my 05 last year. Was interment then a complete failure. Turns out the plug to the blower motor melted. In addition the part was discontinued from GM. So that tells me they knew of the problem. The fix was to directly wire the motor. Since then no issues.

I have a 2005 Monte carlo and when I turn on my heater or ac it only blows air out sometimes. Would anyone know possibly what could be wrong with it?

I had same problem with my 90 town car. The sensor in the inlet heater core hose was corroded and not sending a message to start the blower. It started intermittantly then nothing. I discovered later a good engine flush would have been good preventive maintainence,as newer cars need this. I say newer because I drive two 60 chevys now. good luck Dick
