'96 Stang (I know) Hardwiring XM radio unit
My girlfriend has a '96 Mustang GT, after she kept wanting to drive my Monte Carlo I asked her why and she said because it had better radio stations and a leather interior. I recently bought here an XM radio kit for it, but not the leather interior.
I have the unit mounted in the dash and it looks good, but the 12v cigar lighter plug looks bad, and the cable is running around the manual shift.
Is it ok, to power the unit off the same leads going into the stock head unit? or is there a different lead I should use. I only want the radio on when the car is in accessory, run or start. so tapping the courtesy circuit is out.
Any help is appreciated.
