Default 2003 drive wheels locked up

I will pre-apologize it has been a long night.
I am pretty sure it is the transmission, but it is odd. And hoping it might be something cheaper to fix.
The drive wheels are locked up, but you can still change gears, and if you hit the accelerator in Park/neutral no engine resistance in any drive gear engine bogs down. The car will not free roll in neutral. The brakes seem the be working correctly. I can pump them to build pressure and hold it after I let them go they act normal. Anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions

thank you

When was the last time the Trans Fluid was changed? It should be a Red color and not Brown.

It still has a red tint but it does need to be changed.

those 6th Gens have all that computer stuff to make them work so it's not quit like putting a new motor in a classic car. I would imagine if yours is an SS and you put a different one in from an LS you could have more issues. I think if it was me I would have this diagnosed by a professional shop. That may save you some headaches.
They maybe able to rebuild it easier than to try an hunt one down and put it in and it may not be any good either.
