2001 Monte Carlo SS Sunroof probleims

Just bought a 2001 mc ss and the sunroof doesn't open right. It pops up fine but makes a clicking noise and then the passenger side starts to move but the driver doesn't. If I stand outside the car and hit the switch while pushing on the driver side of the glass it moves back but only about 3 inches then stops and won't go any further. Any advice?

The motor is probably bad, or maybe the rails on it are broke Somewhere
I've had the same problem, ended up just replacing the entire sunroof assembly, which isn't at all difficult but Time consuming
Got it for $50 at the u-pull:thumbsup:

would greasing the rails make any improvment? it looks like they are pretty dry and dirty.:(

Sunroof question

How far does the sunroof open?

Mine has been doing the same thing, hopefully someone posts what's up! I bought a new motor for mine, probably should try some grease too.
