2000 SS throwing code P0332
Any info on this code?
Thanks Malcolm |
PO332 indicates a fault in a Knock Sensor. The Knock Sensor (KS) system enables the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control the timing advance protecting the engine from potentially damaging pre-ignition.
The Knock Sensors are the PCM's "microphones" for listening for harmful pre-ignition/detonation troubles. To fix the problem, the Knock Sensor will need to be replaced. To pull a defective the knock sensor, the intake plenum has to come-off. 2.5 -to- 3.0 hrs of labor + parts. Don't get the cheap ones. Go with GM, AC/Delco or Dorman. ($28 - $35.00) |
Wow, I literally just did this for my 04 Grand Prix (3800 Series III n/a). I also replaced the connector as mine was brittle and snapped off. Anyway, that's the transmission side and mine was the radiator side.
22mm deep socket. Agree with the brand above; then again, I usually use ACDelco. |
So I bought a code reader (Innova 3160d) just kept resetting, code went away for a week, meanwhile read many posts on subject, it seems there can be connection problems so I will check into that and yes code is back. Where is the sensor for bank 2 located and can I access the connector without major disassembly. Thank you for info. Malcolm
