1998 wont crank

So my car wont crank when turned over... I got a new battery and starter put in and it still wont crank. When i try to turn it on the gauges work and everything and im pretty sure im hearing the fuel pump

the security light has been on but wouldnt that prevent the fuel pump from turning on?

Idk what else to do and its frustrating me bad

sooo ive been trying to figure out what it all could be...

loose wiring? ignition? relay? the security locked it out?(i hope its not the security)

could it be anything else? how hard is it to get in the steering column? would it take long?

so just in case anyone runs across this problem, i talked to this auto repair guy and he was telling me about the security light in my car... he said if i try to turn on my car and its flashing its the security most likely.... well i tried to turn it on and my security light stayed on and didnt flash but i tried what he said and next thing i know the car was working

so all i did was try to turn the car on and left the key in the on position, he said for 10 mins atleast.... so i left it in the on position for about 12-13 minutes came back outside turned the car off and turned it over and it started right up for me.... hope that helps someone out, worth a shot

Having to leave the key in the on position for a longer time could mean that your fuel filter is clogged. Have you replaced it before?
