Question **04 SS still blows air when a/c's off**

When my ac is off air still blows through the vents while driving. It blows through all settings defrost, floor etc. Whats not closing and how can i fix it? Its been a pain keeping my car smelling nice with nasty air coming in from outside. Muchless useless air blowing.

Mine does it too. I think its just air drifting in from the outside and through the filter and fan.

Mine does that and its an earlier Gen then yours. I just turn the fan off and put it into the Defrost position and it never bothers me.

Thats how i had it the other night when i was cruising around. Its was about 75* outside i had the windows down and the vent air was hotter. I dont want to have to have the heat or the ac on just so i wont get the air coming in. How could i block it off, could i block off the filter and just use recirculated air or does the recirculated air also go through the filter?

I had a similar problem, there is a resistor in the middle of the blower squirrell cage under the glove box that went bad. It eventually had the blower on after the car was shut off (draining the battery).

mine does it too. you could just close the horizontal or vertical on the vents to block it.

My Cavalier used to do that...

And my Monte does it too, just not as bad...It doesnt bother me though, because I usually have the A/C on, or at least the vent...rarely do I ever turn the vent system completly off...
