Chicago = Monte Carlo capital?

I'm a member from PA and have an older sister and young nephew residing in Chicago. I visit them every June for my nephew and my birthday since they're only 4 days apart and December for Christmas. No lie, per 20 cars I see out there, at least 2 or 3 seem to be Monte Carlos. Now most of them aren't 100% but still. I see 1 then immediately see another. Where my sister lives, there are 2 parked within eye distance on her block and several parked on the way to her job in the loop which is a quick 10 min drive up Lakeshore(can't believe speed limit is only 45mph, all them lanes). Its actually funny how many I see out there. I've thought about driving out there on a visit so my car can go "home" and to show off a little(because out of all those Montes, no ones looked like mine) but a 10+ hour drive, that's not around the corner. Plus people don't really know how to drive out there so I think I'll keep my car back east. Any member who is from/familiar with Chicago, do you see the same thing.

I dont know, my area of michigan may be the capital. I tried to count all of them I seen in a day once and gave up after 30.lol They are a good, dependable, long lasting cars so I think there are a lot of them everywhere. :)

You guys should consider yourself lucky to be around so many. Then again perhaps not. I live in an area where there is a chance of seeing a Monte maybe once a week. Guess this could make my car stand out more from the crowd, as we don't seem to really have many here. Guess I should be happy it is what it is... :) :) But it does get lonely with no other Monte's to run with. Bunch of fuddy duddy's here, all they do is drive them to and fro, no club interests.

I think you needa get your monte fix and come to GM nationals 2014 with us next year! :D

Not to many Monte's around here, a few 6th gens, mostly in really bad condition. 7th gens even harder to find and a 7th gen SS i've only ever seen 2 while driving around here in the 2 years i've had mine, and only once each.

I see a lot of Montes up to 6 gens here in Lansing but there are very few 7th gens in this area

there are a ton of monte's around Indy, some not so nice, and mainly 5th and 6th gens, but the wierd thing is that I am one of the youngest people I see driving them. Around here it's all middle-aged ladies and elderly men lol

We do have / did have a ton of members from the Chicago area. :thumbsup:

The Monte is fairly common where I am at. BUT, my color combo, blue/silver, is NOT common. I've seen I think 3 not counting mine. A '03 Pace Car, '03 Jeff Gordon and a 7th gen with that combo. I like being a "uncommon" (makes mine stand out that much more).

BTW - Some people think that Parma Ohio is the Camaro Capital of the world. A radio show host even had a reference to people living in Parma must own a Camaro lol.
No, I am not in Parma. I am 45-60 minutes away from Parma.

Nice shot. I have a few shots on my phone of the Willis Tower(still cant grasp the name change) from a few years back from the top deck of a Target parking lot. Attachment 30986Attachment 30987
