2020 Chevy Nationals - Carlisle, PA - 50 Years of Monte Carlo! - June 26-27

Chevrolet Nationals, formally the GM Nationals.
This year, they will be honoring the 50th anniversary of the Monte Carlo!

Details:
When: June 26 - June 27, 2019
Location: 1000 Bryn Mawr Road -- Carlisle, PA 17013
Web Site: Carlisle GM Nationals - Collector Car Show and Swap Meet, Everything GM, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you register, under the heading GM Club, select MONTECARLOFORUM.COM. If we can get 25 people to use this club name, Carlisle Events will provide us a 20x20 tent at no extra cost!!

Registration Web Page: GM Nationals

If you post that you are going, one of the MCF.com staff will add you to the list started below. This way we have an idea of who we can meet-n-greet with while we're there.

This is always a great time to meet-n-greet not just with fellow Monte owners, but other GM enthusiasts. Each year the group of people I meet seems to get larger and the fun only gets better. Rain or shine, it's always a great time!

Since some are not bringing a Monte, here is a list of real first name, screen name and what they are bringing:
Jason (The_Maniac) - Monte Carlo
Matt (the non-MCF.com Cadillac guy many on here have gotten to know and love) - Cadillac STS-V

Mike (ChibiBlackSheep) - Monte Carlo
Michael (MAMONTE) - No Car, just spectating
Matt Weber (06MistreSS) - Monte Carlo

Devin (MnteCarloSS47) - Monte Carlo
Amanda (SnakeBiteSS) - Impala

Greg (Zippy02) - Monte Carlo (Invitational in Building T)

This would be a fun one to go to.
I am trying to find out more information on a hauler that could get the car there for me.
Its right at 1198 miles from Central Nebraska or some where are 18 hours if you stayed on top of the wheel all the way.

It falls on my birthday... and celebrates the Monte Carlo?! Happy Birthday to me!

Jason already added me. I'll be there (hopefully with my Monte this year...) Need to get some stuff fixed on it in the spring.

I figured odds are good you will be there. ;)
I also took an assumption MAMONTE will make it out again.

Hopefully this year is epic fun!

I'd love to go but I'm already heading to the Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin, Illinois.

Maybe a couple of you who are familiar with this Event can chime in with your insight and suggestions. I know the main show day is Saturday (27th) with awards that evening. What happens on Friday (26th) other than I assume car prep? Is it worth being there for the full day Friday? I got my hotel booked but I'm not sure if I want to travel down Thursday or Friday. Part of me says if I'm going to be driving that far I might as well be there to enjoy two full days instead of one but I have some time to decide - I'm not even sure as of now if I want to drive or trailer. And I assume nothing happens Sunday (28th) since the Event doesn't include that day? Regarding car prep specifically, is there an area at the Event for washing or do we have to take care of that elsewhere? Anything else worth mentioning for us first timers is appreciated.

Looking forward to catching up with those I know and meeting more of you guys I don't. This should be a hella good time!

Friday is pretty much just a big car show without judging, a lot of us go hangout at the showfield for the day and wait for others to arrive to the area. Friday night we all go to dinner and then go play some mini golf. So Friday is just about relaxing together enjoying the (hopefully) nice day.
Yes, they have a place to wash cars at the showfield. Also you pass a good 2 car washes on the way to the showfield if you go through Carlisle.

Sunday used to be a little half day to pick up awards, but I think they didn't have enough people actually go to the showfield to make it worth it. So they consolidated down to awards on Saturday evening, and last year was the first year they did it that way. I personally liked it, although the wait to get your awards was quite the long line. (Thanks for letting me cut in Devin!)

If you are making the trip out, it's worth hanging out with us on Friday. It's a fun day, but not a judged day.
