2010 Road Trip plans, IN-MI-OH-PA-NY-MA-NJ-VA
 

Each year, I do at least one "major" road trip to see places and meet family and friends. I hope to do some "weekend voyages" during 2010, but for now, I'm planning these drives....

With going northeast in 2010, that leaves the northwest section of the continental US to which I have yet to travel. So ... sometime in 2011 ... I will drive through Minnesota, the Dakotas and out west, maybe including Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

Indeed. I've been to the northwest with my parents and sister on family vacations ... never on one of my solo road trips. So, it'll be cool.

I know some of the guys from the First Gen MC Club that are in the greater Pittsburgh area are looking into attending a car show somewhere the Saturday I'm in the area before heading for home. You are welcome to join us! :)

Which reminds me ... I'm going to need to figure out hotels there. Everywhere else, I'll be staying with family and friends (mostly, anyway).....



* UPDATE *
I'm starting to look at routes to take for this road trip and should be able to post a possible path for the drive sometime soon.


In doing so, I've read about US Route 6 [another route I want to travel the length of ... "someday"] in Pennsylvania. If I have time, I'm thinking of taking one of 3 routes to "touch" US Route 6 across PA from Ohio to Binghamton NY...

...I-79 N ... US 6 E ... US 220 ... I-86 E

Thoughts on any of these possibilities?


After traveling Route 66 (September 2009), I really want to travel other routes, including US Route 6, US Route 20 (which cuts right through my home town), the Lincoln Highway, and others. Heck, I'd love to drive Route 66 again.... But, not enough vacation time right now...dangumit.

I have reservations at the Vestal NY Quality Inn with the New York Monte Carlo Club for the Binghamton NY event, August 6-7!
