Spam being sent by Private Message (PM)
One of the latest tactics used by spammers on forums all over the internet, is to send the spam by PM (private message).
Lately we had problem of spammers sending out official looking PM's claiming to be an administrator or some other official sounding title. The PM would claim that you have a virus and you should click a link in the PM.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN THOSE MESSAGES!!!
The sender is not connected to MonteCarloForum.com or Internet Brands (our parent company) in any way.
If you receive spam in your PM inbox, PLEASE let a moderator or myself know the username of the person who sent it to you. So we can ban them.
There are two main administrators on this site. I'm one of them. The other uses the username "Patrick".
If you receive a PM from someone claiming to be an administrator, look to see if the word Administrator is under the sender's username.
You should also be aware that the usernames of all Monte Carlo Forum moderators and administrators are a different color. A real forum staff member's username is blue. All other members usernames are a greyish purple color.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any of the moderators or myself. We'll be glad to help you as best we can.
Thank you!
