Default Whats a port tube and where can i get one?

Hey guys, so a few months ago i managed to get a system for free basically. It came with a Sony Amp, Rockford Punch p2, and a box. I noticed when i got it that the box had a hole in the top but it was plugged with the factory port plug. Recently i got a Alpine Type R 1021d and i want to make the box ported now. Reading on this enclosure i would have to place a port tube and the get the right frequency? How would i do this?
Here is the box Q-Logic QLH-1.0010SE Type 2 single 10" hatchback box at Crutchfield.com
Thanks guys!

The port tube dimensions will be based on the size of the box you have and the specs of the subwoofer. A lot of it is based on tuning for a specific frequency.

Since you are a novice I would encourage you to not hack your Q box up but instead either buy a sub that will perform well in the Q box or buy a box that will perform well for your new Sub.

Ported boxes rock i recommend Car Stereo and more at HiFiSoundconnection they have great low prices check the recommended ported volume on the sub and pick up a new box from here should only set you back maybe 60 bucks i love my box from them

Just go to home depot buy some 3/4 mdf for 30$ and some liquid nails and have some fun! Also a slot port would be easier, but some people say the aero ports sound better.. Download "torres box calculator" and rear the write up you can see some cool stuff and learn a little about building boxes! Your first one may not be the best. But you can only improve from there

Those Q boxes are precut for 3" diameter port tubes. You can use any 3" PVC pipe or cardboard tube. The length of it will change the tuning.

You can use a box calculator and enter the dimensions of the box as it is now, and add a 3" round port. Choose your tuning and it'll give you a port length.

torres should work.
