RE: what size speakers stock 85 ss
I'm an owner of a 86 LS so from what I have.
Front: 3.5 inch rounds. Back: 4x10's but I have heard 6x9's fit with some modifying. I'm going to see if this is true. A guy down the street has two Poineer 6x9's and they sound amazing! |

ive been told the back were 4x10's but i wasnt quite sure, now 3 1/2 's seems really small, does any company make them? yea pioneers 6x9's do sound good pretty much in anything

and i would HIGHLY reccomend buying some speaker baffles when you upgrade, will make all the sound go into the cabin instead of losing it into the trunk

RE: what size speakers stock 85 ss
ok so i was lookin through jcwhitney, they have stock replacement speakers 4x10's for back and 3.5's for front, the also have 3 way 4x10's for 30 bucks for the pair, i think i may get them so i dont have to buy those adapter plates for 6x9's

In my '87 SS I had the adapter plates in the back for 2 Polk6x9's, and a set of Pioneer 3.5" up front and it sounded pretty good.

1985 monte carlo ss speaker size
How about you do this for the front of car, I'm planning to do so in order to have better and bigger speakers in front, in the front on dash you can install something like bullet tweeters to sound loud!!!
