The_Maniac 04-02-2013 05:35 AM

On the 7th gen Monte, I like the aluminum overlays and the steering wheel are nice changes, but aside from that I think the car was robbed of small heritage pieces. Such as, if I recall the layout of the instrument cluster is different. The '00-'05 cluster having 4 small gauges is something I believe the 80's Monte SS did (just placement varies). Plus the 7th gen Monte has no knight's crest anywhere (it was robbed of the name plaque on the passenger side dash).

I bet that passenger side dash piece on a 7th gen is interchangeable with one from the '00-'05 6th gen. That would make a neat mod (subtle but adds some heritage to the ride).

Pretty easy to remove, just take off all the plastic trim pieces that are holding it on lol

Wow Frank very nice interior refinishing you have done to your Monte. Mine needs a makeover after seeing Tad's and yours....

I've got a pretty stock interior still. It's just crazy clean. Going to mimic the 2000 pace car hopefully next year.

Wow hey Jen can I have those headrests? :D lol those look awesome.

I have always considered doing black headliner but since the rest of my interior is pretty much black + red I think it would get awfully hot in there during the summers.

I should really get newer pics of my red vinyl door cards, my first attempt was so bad :rotfl: Our doors are NOT easy to vinyl, that's for darn sure. I will probably start a third attempt soon.

Red Nightmare 04-02-2013 09:19 AM

neverrrr!!!! (especially after trying to find them myself! xD )
omg don't remind me about summer & heat.... The black interior sucks.

(not like I prefer to) Something majority of guys won't understand, unless you cross-dress:wtf:...sitting down on a hot leather seat in a skirt...*cringe* Made that mistake once...

ChibiBlackSheep 04-02-2013 09:25 AM

Guys who wear shorts, or thin dress pants also know what that feels like.

That's why I have the weathertech in-channel window vents. In the summer time my windows are always partially open and it helps a lot.

Summertime in the south in a black on black car is another reason why I am foregoing leather seats until it's not my DD anymore. Ouch, just ouch.
