Well I just added a box with two 10" subs and a Kenwood amp to my stock stereo. I got something like 500 watts pumping out my stereo right now. The stock system is 280 watts alone. Now its really really loud.

Do you have a question about what to do or you are giving advice on it?

I have a 03 MC SS I think the speakers can handle a bigger amp than whats stock. I know alot about the bacis eletronics things like electic motors and stuff but not stereos I listin to alot of everything R&B, POP, rock, I'll give some ex. Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Nirvina, tim McGraw, Pearl Jam, The Who, The Doors, and I don't really have any new Music CD but I listen to the Radio which is mostly RB RAP and POP I want it all to sound good so I want a thump some times and sometimes not, any suggestions.

I worked for Best Buy for a few years part time through college in the Car Audio department--selling, installing etc--and I do on my own a lot--, so I got some background

But, the back of the radio has no outputs/inputs to hook up an external amp--did you just do some splicing from the adaptor that is hooked into the stock amp to keep the stock HU??

I got my infinity and kicker system from my old car begging to be put in but I don't want to get rid of the old HU that has all the electronic memory from the steering wheel controls, anti theft and head light timers to be lost

is there a way to go around this?

yeah thats usualy works but since the newer montes have HUGE trunk if u get a ported box it is gonna be quite on the outside and loud as hell on the inside but i like it cuz they are amazing and when my 1000 watt amp is on its max outs it shakes the crap out of me

on the Hu issue it will keep your setting when you take the factory one out but if you want to change it all you have to do is put the factory hu back in and change them then put back in your new one
