Replacement Speakers Gone Bad!

I'm wondering if anyone can lend some advice on what to do about replacing the factory speakers in my 2000 SS. Today I bought 4 Infinity speakers and installed them. The sound quality is horrid. The only way I can make it sound good is to turn all off but one. This tells me that I don't have enough power for them. What should I do? I am thinking that replacing the amp with something suitable for the wattage rating of my new speaker. My issue is the wire harness looks quite daunting and I don't know if all of those wires are strictly sound related. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Stock head unit or aftermarket? If it's the former any aftermarket speaker will sound like crap. Did you wire it correctly (backwards)?

Do you go to the doctor and just tell them you don't feel good?

I'm assuming you're on a stock amp and everything then, you'll need an aftermarket amp to fix things which means you'll also probably need an aftermarket headunit.

Yeah sounds like you have factory amp that will block your sound and maybe that's why I would say get rid of that amp and buy line convertor....the factory amp is a bass blocker or used to block out bass.....those speaker sound like they are nice to sound horrid so maybe aftermarket. Headunit or just that amp first then replace the headunit later

Thanks for the suggestions. I found that the wiring diagram I used had the wrong information for the rear passenger side speaker. The rear speakers were cancelling each other out pretty badly. It seems to sound good now but I am looking into the total cost of replacing the head unit. Adding the steering wheel controls and the special wire harness adds quite a bit of cost it seems and I don't want to loose any features of the car.

Purchase an amp bypass harness from amazon. Problem solved.
