Putting on new dash

I went to the wreckers and got a new dash from an 03 monte. its only the piece that goes around the radio and the steering wheel. I painted it yellow and now I want to put it back on but there is no place for the hazard switch. theres the hole but how do i get the switch from my existing dash panel to go onto this one?

glue. it's heat welded with plastic stock, so once its removed those welds are broken. i used gorila glue to get mine back on when i broke it once.

thats what i thought but i didn't want to go and rip it off the current one and end up breaking it :P thanks for the response!

The hazard switch isn't heat welded to the dash. It's held in by clips that are part of the hazard switch assembly

Once you remove the bezel, look at the back and you'll see the clips

Yours was likely broken in the past and "fixed" with a solvent weld

All 00-05 Montes and Impalas are held in by clips on the hazard button

I know when I pulled my dash apart, I found what BBEngineer is talking about. I also found the previous owner did not understand it and busted the back of the dash trying to swap it and glued it back together. Luckily, the hazard switch is still removable AND you can't see any signs of damage from the other side.

Yean BBE is correct. I remember when I did my dash and took out the hazard button I had a hell of a time getting it out. However it will come out though. Now the vents are another story they are welded or cemented in (whatever process they used). But they can be taken out; I also took mine out and had to epoxy them back in.

Yeah I've got the same issue, broke the plastic welds... the clips are an absolute pain. So gorilla glue or epoxy hold it well enough?
