Project "SQ Monte"
Im not sure what to say on this one, ummm? Wow!! I have this whole thread saved to its own folder on my desktop. Dude, GREAT JOB! I am very impressed!!! You just backed up everything you have said here about car audio. Good job!

I upgraded my subs/sub amp/mids & highs/mids & highs amp. Box and head unit are the same. Everything is installed but my deck won't power up, acc wire won't go hot when they key is turned so I think I need to find another source for that. Once I get that taken care of, just gotta make sure my amps turn on and make noise then it's all about tuning!
I'll post up some pics once I get this thing making noise later today.
I wish my reinstall was going as good as my first install did. I just got back to it and decided to test my deck harness for continuity on the red wire....I get continuity until I go from one side of the inline resistor to the other. I'm not exactly sure what the resistor is for and if it's necessary but if I can get away with it i'm gonna get rid of it and fire this thing up!
I sold my AQ1200D to a buddy, still have my mids/highs amp and the CDT mids/highs, and subs. No plans for any of it, interested? If so, shoot me a pm.
LMAO!

I used a product called SecondSkin Damplifier Pro, I ended up getting 2 door packs for free from SecondSkin but they are normally $60ea. With those two packs I was able to deaden both doors, the rear deck, the trunk lid and rear license plate and frame and still have about 3-4 sheets left.
Deadening everything will significantly reduce the road noise you're hearing and will make your car feel/sound nice and solid. I say go for it!
Project SQ Monte v.2 complete!!!!!
Put the finishing touches on it just a few minutes ago as far as installing goes, still have alot of tuning to do but that's gonna take time. Last time I did all the tuning manually, extremely frustrating at times but once I got it dialed in it was sonic pleasure.......until the demons reared their head due to the factory deck missing from the loop
So I ripped it all out and planned Project SQ Monte's rebirth, which included:
Relocate factory deck
Reinstall P880PRS w/flush mount install kit
Upgrade front components (PPI 356CS 6.5" components)
Upgrade front components amp (CDT Audio SQA-4100 4ch 100x4)
Upgrade subs (Sundown Audio SA-12 12" subs)
Upgrade subs amp (Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D 1500 x 1)
Relocating the factory deck turned out to be quite the hassle. I didn't want to put it in the trunk for numerous reasons so I set my sights on either the center console or the glove box....center console was too small so in the glove box it went! The relocation harness is super thick and like 16+ feet long so getting it all tucked in behind the dash was a PITA. Luckily I didn't have to cut anything to get it to fit in there, which was nice cause if I would have had to I don't think it would be done right now.
I ended up having to run my own accessory lead because for some reason the one on the relocation harness would never power up so at first my deck wouldn't turn on. But after figuring that out I ran the wire as needed, tested it to make sure it did what it was supposed to do and then put the dash back together. When I first installed the PPI mids/highs back in November I didn't even get to play them at full power cause the driver side mid was popping like crazy. I pulled it out to test it on my HT receiver and it didn't pop so that told me it was either a problem with my amp or the speaker wire was grounding out. I put the mid back in after finishing the dash and when I powered up the system it hasn't popped on me at all.....gonna have to bench test that HiFonics 4ch to see what's the deal.
After getting the mid reinstalled it was time to set the gains on my amps. I did that with a dmm and set them as close as I could to where they should be so hopefully i'm good there. Don't have to worry about xover points and all that cause i'm running 3 way active through my deck so all the tuning and adjustments to my system can be done now from the comfort of my front seat
After getting the gains dialed in I put my box back in the trunk and powered the system up and listened to the lovely noise it made! Haven't done much tuning on it at all, this time around i'm going to try out the auto time alignment and auto eq features it's got built in and see how that works out. They supply a mic that plugs in to the aux port, you tape the mic to your headrest, set the deck to do it's thing and let it work it's magic. Never used this feature before so i'm kind of anxious to see how well it does. If it can save me countless hours of seat/tuning time, mission accomplished.
I'm about to head up to a buddy's house to help him with his custom center console build and let him hear my new system so I'll try to post some pics later. Might be getting home kind of late so they might not go up tonight but they will be up soon.
All I got to say is THESE SUNDOWN SA-12's BANG HARD AND CLEAN!!!!!!
