Pioneer AVH-x1600dvd installation help

I just received my Pioneer AVH-x1600dvd yesterday for my 00 Monte Carlo. This is my first time installing a new unit and I need help with distinguishing what the color of the wires do and what they are for. I also want to install my backup camera also. Guys I need your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will need a wire kit to match the wires so they just plug right into your factory plug. You can get these at like a walmart or the internet. The wires will match your radio so match the color of the wire to the wire on the radio. Look on youtube for a video of this which will explain and show you a lot better than I can. Its not really that bad of an install once you get the feel for it. As far as the wire kit just look for the one that works for 2000 to 2005 monte carlo. Should have which one it is for on the backside of the package.

I have a aftermarket harness for the radio but the problem is that I had a previous after market radio double din radio in the car. I bought the new Pioneer Avh-x1600 radio to replace the old one. I took the car to a radio shop and they hooked the first one up. The first radio was bypassed to play movies. The problem I am running into is that I see wires from the previous radio and Im not sure what to keep and what to get rid of. I see the GMRC-01 harness and the chevy harness but there are other cords connected also.

Did you buy it used and the wires came like that because it maybe better to just buy a new wiring kit. That might not even be the right wiring kit but I am not sure.

The harness connected was from the previous radio. I have a new harness to put in the car.
