New car audio

New car audio is my next project, bored of looking at the standard factory sound system. So what I'm looking for are some suggestions and places online or store where I can purchase some with great performance but at a decent price.

Also the type of system I'm looking for is a touchscreen roughly around 7" red lighting. I dont know much about amps or subs so I wanna ask you all what you suggest in getting. I mainly play Rock music so something best for that.

I highly recommend sonicelectronix.com

Very good site and they have pretty good selection and free shipping.

I don't know much about double din head units, but I do like to stick with Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine for my head units.

X2 on Sonicelectronix.com.. great prices all of the time.

Never used a double din head unit either but I've had good luck with Pioneer and Alpine units. Actually have an older Alpine in the Monte right now, probably will never get rid of it. I've had it for close to 4 years and it's never let me down

If you're looking at getting new speakers and possibly subwoofer(s) I'd go for a headunit with three pre-amp outputs (rca outputs). Make's it easy to add an amp or two. I plan on adding another amp someday for speakers but for now I'm just using the subwoofer output.

Sonicelectronix or Crutchfield to find what you want, buy everything you need off of ebay, you will save TONS.

I have a kenwood in my car right now...

they don't sell it anymore and it's pretty hard to find but i'm pretty sure you can change the color of every kenwood headunit and most alpine units are either blue or red

I have used partsexpress.com

I haven't bought any car audio from them yet but we bought some pro audio stuff like recone kits and other random stuff from them. They have pretty good prices on stuff.
