Need help with Radio!
I've had a system in my 02 monte carlo for about a year now and just recently i have not been able to get sound to come from the radio. It shows that a song is playing but no sound. I believe it is an electrical problem because if i hit the traction off button or open my door to cause a dash light to turn on the sound will fade in for a few seconds and shut right back off. Any ideas on what i could do to fix this?

Also, i had to get (as all of you probably know) the interface for the factory amp and i put back in the factory head unit which works fine... i'm guessing i might have to replace the interface?

sounds like your onto something with the interface. to verify that the aftermarket head unit isn't the culprit try just hooking your powers and grounds for the head up without the interface module and connect your speakers wires up to it and see if it works. the fact that you can hear music for a couple of seconds when you push trac off button kinda tells me you have a data communication line disconnected somewhere. make sure you have power and grounds where there should be going to the interface module.

Might want to hook that deck up to a testing station and some external speakers so you can see what it does. That's a very strage problem you're having but instead of guessing I'd test the deck first. Other than that bro, I have no clue.

yeah my buddy has the same head unit as me and i hooked it up in his car and it works fine... i just don't want to go buy another interface if i'm not sure that's the problem because it's $100
