Need HELP PLEASE on CD - AnyOne know How ?

If any of you have seen my thread "https://montecarloforum.com/forum/ge...ndering-29446/" You'll know that if my great aunt get's a new car, I'm most likely going to buy her 1997 Monte Carlo LS (27,000 mi) from her. However, it has only a cassette player(never been used). But, I would like to put in a factory CD player. I can get one at my local salvage for $50.

My question is...what would I have to do to get around the Theftlock so it (the CD player) can work?

Nobody knows?

chevy dealers will know the codes.

but why not just drop in an after market deck?

Milhouse 07-16-2011 10:44 AM

You would have to have it programmed by a tech at a GM dealership. You would be much better off by going with an aftermarket deck, even if you mount it out of sight to retain the stealth look.

I do not want an aftermarket deck in it. The car is too perfect and pristine to do that too. I either go original factory CD player, or keep the cassette.

you have to go to a chevy dealer and have them unlock it with a computer!

I figured so...thanks everyone.

Hi Kyle,
If all else fails, you could consider something like the below adaptor :confused:
