Need help with audio.

Installed an aftermarket head unit tonight. When I purchased the head unit, I also bought a $55 Scosche wiring harness kit with the integrated chime/warning module as is required for my 02 MC SS (2001-2005 GM models). After installing the wiring harness and H.U., it powers on, functions as it should, but I get no sound at all. I rechecked to make sure I connected the right wires, didn't have any shorts or bad connections..etc. My only guess is that, my stock amplifier (still tied into the door/rear speakers) isnt getting powered on cutting the speaker signal there. What can I do to remedy this for now without buying a stock amp bypass harness? I am buying an aftermarket amp and subs later on, but not just yet.

Note: when I removed the factory head unit there was two connectors. A large grey one (that the aftermarket harness plugs into) and a small black one with just two wires, green and grey (or white) if I recall right. I did not tie those in on the new harness as there didn't appear to be a proper connection for those? Im not quite sure what the two wire black connection does, however even with it unplugged the stock H.U. delivers sound.

Any help will be appreciated greatly.

Thank you for the kind welcome KidSpace. I updated my profile and I am from Florida (as it appears you are as well :)). You can just call me Kudz. I am a paint and body guru and do it well, but these modern automotive electronics....just stumps me lol.

Found the problem. I had connected the blue Amp remote wire to another blue (lighter blue) wire for antenna power, which my car doesnt need. After swapping it over to the Amp remote (amp ON) wire on the harness, everything worked perfectly.

glad it works, where did you find the wiring harness? the store said it will cost me a hundred to get one for my 04 MC ls without onstar or bose.

I guess they would be the same, I'd call someone like Best Buy or something and ask them seeing how they do installs frequently with newer Chevys.
