I was looking into the pioneer 2300 dvd, i was wondering if anyone installed a 2300 or somthing similar in a 06 monte. im need some info, i heard it was a challenge to install due to the parking break. im also not so sure of the factory harness in the 06 montes. any info would help

Are you talking about the parking brake to get the video to play? You can usually wire that to a ground or a constant power (depends on the unit)

Also you will more than likely need to dremel a small plastic bracket out that will be behind the headunit for all the wiring to fit.

Ive herd from other pioneer users that the parking break to ground wire trick doesnt work, it has to be done some other way. But I dont know what that is. someone on here should get you up and running though

the parking break? you must be talking about the video bypass. yeah thats an easy bypass with the AVH series, just need a relay. a 2300 is an easy fit, might have to cut out the back plate with some tin snips or sheers. idk my backplate has been gone quite some time so idk what fits in front of it and doesn't but it's not a big deal, just plastic in the way.

i have a pioneer avic z130 my self, and its the most powerfull and largest double din from pioneer, with perifials like the HD radio, so if i can squeeze that you'll be fine.

far as the bypass, just youtube up 2300 avh video bypass, or 4200 video bypass if they didnt bother remaking a video for the 2300, they are gonna be the same thing. because all of the avh's are designed pretty much the same.

We had this problem grounding it at work - I work at Best Buy. Never did get the video to work for the display if I recall correctly. :/
