Infinity Kappas

Does anybody have Infinity Kappa 6x9'sin their Monte? I am thinking of ordering some up, but was curious if bass response improved over the stock speakers? I have the radio with the amp in the trunk. Thanks.

RE: Infinity Kappas

I have the kappa's in my 02 monte. when first installed the sound was not so good. went to the local car stereo experts and they convinced me to put in a 100 watt per channel amp I went with a blaupunkt and the sound is now really awsome. loud and very nice clarity. I also put infinity reference components in the doors and added a second 100 watt amp for the front. the install shop grabbed the signal before the factory amp so I could use the infinity crossover to the components. the factory system is rated at 200 watt but is not even close to that and also has an internal crossover to the front. almost any good aftermarket spkrs need more power to sound like they should.

I just ordered some up tonight. Will they at least bring some high frequencies to the rear? I don't like how it sounds with only bass back there. Eventually, I might add an aftermarket amp to them. But when I get a little more extra spending cash, I'm gonna throw my 2 12's and 1500 watt amp in.

I was not happy with the way the kappa's sounded hooked to the stock amp. I got them from crutchfield and they also said the kappa's needed more power.the stock amp is the weak link in our monte's for upgrading.

Did they at least add some higher frequencies back there? I think I will add an amp to them in the near future. Thanks.

in my case the highs were not improved nor the lows. the factory spkrs were much better. I was ready to return the kappa's until the amp improved the sound by 200%. I have my high settings at 1 notch down from 100%. I just like it that way. bass at 50%. I would try them and see how you like them. I got the amp for $70 and an install card for $75 from crutchfield so it wasn't too painful for the wallet.

I forgot to add that once the rear spkrs were cranking the fronts were overpowered so I had to upgrade those.more $$$.

I have always had Infinity put into my cars and with an aftermarket deck with 50x4 watts they sound great, when you add an amp always brings out the true sound in in infinity speakers, I prefer Infinty over anything else.

They are great speakers at good prices

I just installed a system with kappas in the front and in the back. With a kicker amp. Sounds really good and has great highs and lows. Ive put an avic z3 with all new wiring. I didnt want anything factory. I had an infinity amp in there and it didnt sound to great. So Now I bought a kicker and it sounds awsome now. Def need morepower! Would def recommend getting these!!

I've put infinitiy in all my cars, had 3 way 6x9's in my last car, sounded so good. Put 6 1/2" in both the front and rear of my nissan altima, hooked them up to a bazooka 400 watt x 4 amp and was so impressed with the sound after the amp, i switched my 2 12" MTX subs that kept blowing left and right to infinity subs. never blew them yet and its been 4 years. im not clear on how well their amps work, but the speakers are unsurpassed for quality AND clarity. crisp, deep bass finished with toned mids and clear high's. Wanna get them for my 03, but wanna get the good stuff (kappa components) expensive unless you get them off ebay! haha.
