Default Hids in 85 mc

So I've been doing a lot of research regarding installing hids in a 85 mc.

I've been reading that you have to buy projectors? Is there a way to do a retrofit the stock projectors or do you have to buy aftermarket ones?? Also. When installing the hids do you have to power them off the battery or will they work okay off of the stock wiring harness ?? Again I've been looking around but my main question is if the stock housings can be modified.

Any info would be great.
Thanks
Jeff

Stock housing as far as I have seen can't be modified. I plan on eventually mounting a projector where my high beam is now, then just putting a tinted black cover over the lights. It won't be noticeable at in the day.

And for HID's, get a relay, the stock harness in a 28 year old car isn't really up to the task.

Yeah i am planning on getting the relay...Anyone have any recommendations on what projectors to go with? I've been looking at the eBay ones but people say to stay away from them? But when i looked into getting the real glass projectors I wasn't very impressed with the price of them...But then again if the results are better than the stock dim halogen bulbs i am running now it may be worth it...

Something like this. Finding the right bulbs can be a bit difficult though.

2X Genuine OEM Hella E55 Bi Xenon Light HID D2S Projectors 3" Lens Pair | eBay

Once you buy the projectors...what do you mount the projectors in? Just generic 4x6 housings?

You will need to mount them to something, preferably something that you can aim. I was just going to screw them onto some aluminum.
