HELP Loud chimes ~>Going Crazy - HELP : )

Why is the chime level so loud ? I have 2 options, normal and loud. I set it to normal but its unacceptably loud in my option. Lets just say if your standing 20 feet from the car with the doors shut you still can still hear the chimes clearly. I'm afraid to even try the loud option, who would use that. This can't be to way it is and if it is I want to know how to disable it all together. It chimes 5 times, like if I don't put my seatbelt on or when I turn on the car. Anyone have any advise, thx.

I'm not sure, but I thought the chimes were controlled by the radio & through the speakers... Did you check your owner's manual ? Hopefully one of our expert tech member's can advise when they read you thread problem... Check the below link I found on our forum.

Thx kid, haven't checked the manual, I will do so tonight. This is something thats bothered me since I got the car 1 year ago, thought I could ignore it but I can't anymore. There's no way of disabling it with the radio controls that I see. The only options are "normal" and "loud".

thats interesting, they dont beep except for start so honestly idk what your huge problem with it is, mine are pretty loud, cant be heard outside the car but likly the unit you have is just like that. i can't immagine a single thing that would cause the unit to be extra loud ive neveer experienced it but if it bothers you and you think its a wiring issue, reqire from scrach and if it persists i'd say it's the unit natural tones, or a defective unit perhaps.

does it have an after market radio?

No, factory radio. Its just not when you start the car, if your backing up with the door open as I do daily. I don't open the door all the way just enough to park tight to the line at work. Also, if I'm driving a short distance in town I typically don't put on my seatbelt which causes it to go off every couple minutes.

Anyways, not gonna take the wiring apart so I'll have to live it it. I just can't see how mine is the only one doing this. I've never heard a car chime sound so loud in my life.
