Does a 2007 radio fit on a 2002?
does anyone know if a 2007 monte carlo radio fit on a 2002 SS?i know it might fit properly but will it have any issues with the harness or any wire issues?

good question :confused::confused:

It will physically fit but won't likely work because the 00-05 uses Class-II signaling and the 06+ uses CAN

idk nothing about that signaling but, as far as i understand a normal after market deck, pwoer is power, if you can get it powered, wired to speakers it should technicly run, but idk about it working with the factory amp, i suspect that's what he's talking about, but i really don't know nothing about factory decks, i genraly don't use them :-s might also not work with the steering wheel controls, that also might be what he speaks of?

You can't get it powered... there is no +12 accessory wire, it uses a digital message over the databus to turn on (just like the 00-05), but the databus format is different between the 00-05 and the 06+

dang!someone is selling one for $30 and would way rather prefer the 07 radio over the 02.I love my steering wheel controls tho!is it possible to connect the steering wheel controls to an aftermarket radio?
|
yes, with a steering controls wiring harness form crutchfield or sonicelectronix. it has been discussed a few times around here.
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SWIJ...K.html?tp=3405 or the others depending on what you use for a headunit.. |
im sorry i shouldve used the search bar before asking that one!
soooo even if i ran my own wires to the 07 radio, it wont work properly? |
Try it out! :D
