Cal Error?
Hey my Monte Carlo just started displaying Cal Err on the radio. Anybody know what this means and how I could fix it? Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Since it's your stock radio, if it keeps coming up, it may need re-programmed with a Tech II. I know that for those trying to get a factory MP3 CD player (like I did), someone found by disconnecting the power lead to one of the eproms caused this (but the radio worked and did not go into theft mode). For giggles, try disconnecting the battery (probably for about 30 minutes) and connect it back up. If the problems continue, I go back to my earlier statement, it may need reprogrammed with a TechII at a dealership (I say this without having researched it, but based on my limited experience with this type of radio, it's possible). |

The funny thing is I did take it to my dealership fixing a light flickering problem and they "claimed" to have fixed it. I'll probably take it in later on this week. And Im not sure about HomeLink thing, how could I check?

This is what my owner manual says about it:
CAL ERR (Calibration Error): This message is displayed when the radio has not been calibrated dealership for service.properly for the vehicle. You must return to the :( Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If the dealership claimed to have fixed it I would take it back and let them know the problem still exists. ;) |
