Best Stock Appearing Head Unit?

I've upgraded my entire audio system with great sounding components, but still have the weak stock head unit. I have searched for over a year for the "perfect" replacement for the stock unit, but I really don't like the newer space ship looking units. Too flashy for the subtle Monte dash....

Has anyone switched their stock head unit for a nice, simple, stock looking unit that performs at today's standards? I mostly use the head unit to play MP3s and listen to XM. I would like to retain steering wheel controls.

I kept mine and replace the amp speakers and added a processor.

I just chatted with Crutchfield and they recommended this one. He said that a processor should provide superior sound even with a stock head unit...exactly what I need...Mel, which are you using?

I have the Bit ten. The sound has really improved.

That has very good reviews...did you have it tuned or did you do it yourself?

The shop tuned it with a lap top

Dang I feel another Mod coming on

Sounds good guys, I am having a bit of trouble hearing my favorite tunes over the headers and Cat-backs.

Could be old-age too :rotfl:
