Anyone install LEDs for their dash?

I was curious if anyone had installed led lights behind their speedometer and other gauges, and what color they used.

I was thinking about taking out the dash to get access to this, but don't want it to look "tacky" or be too bright at night.

Thanks.

I recently got finished with converting my entire interior lighting to white LEDs. I had a hard time finding cheap LEDs for the certain white I was looking for with a wide enough angle to not look like crap. I stumbled upon these and bought quite a few packs from this site:

5mm LED - Cool / Clear White - Ultra Bright Flat Top
It doesn't list the color temperature but I would say it's probably ~6000k.
These are also really bright (14,000 mcd) so if you think the stock lighting is a bit dim then these are brighter.

They are flat tops which I think makes it a wider angle. On my last Monte I did a blue LED dash conversion with 10mm round top LEDs and the hotspots were terrible. These looked pretty good after I lightly sanded the tops and put some glue on top of them to help disperse the light even more. I think it looks great.

Not sure if you plan on doing the radio - LEDs are kind of hard to get in there and only have a few holes because the incandescents can spread quite a bit farther. The 10mm LEDs will not fit in the radio.

The HVAC took me quite a few tries because I kept lifting pads on the PCB but eventually I got it all working.

I'll try to snap some pictures tonight.

Nice, yeah that'd be great if you could share some pics. Little nervous about the project but it seems it's a fairly simple process.
