Another newbie stereo replacement question

Hi. I have a question regarding replacing my stereo system in my 2003 monte SS. I have an aftermarket stereo from a 2004 Tahoe that was only used a few months. It has the chime module and wiring harness already wired in. I plan on removing the factory amp and using the amp built into the head unit for the time being. I will also run new wires to the speakers.

I am concerned about loosing the controls on the steering wheel and more so the ability to program the car from the factory radio.

How do people handle the loss of the programming ability?
Any other issues I should be concerned with?

Thsnk you

If your worried about that there are a number of companies that sale a Relocation Harness for the Impala/Monte Carlo of 00-05 years LIke the Metra 70-2003t. This will let you move the radio to the trunk and still be able to setup things that the radio offers.

Also if your car has the Steering wheel controls then you can get a Module that would allow the connection to the controls However that said your radio would have to also be able to have such connection. Like my Alpine has a connection for the steering wheel controls. Without the ability to run from such controls. The Module wouldn't offer any help. Some units have wires that would be connected to others have plug in like headphone jack as a place on the back to connect the module.
